  • 20-Mar-2018 Thailand Focus: Commercial Registration, alcoholic beverages as well as tobacco and tobacco products.
    The import documentation for Thailand has been reviewed and adapted accordingly. The following changes have been made:

    Commercial Registration

    The document entitled Commercial Registration has been equipped with the initial page of the online registration interface of the Department of Business Development. Further information may be obtained from the particular document in this import report.

    Alcoholic Beverages

    The following documents have been augmented in regard to procedural details, i.e. the processing fee, and have been equipped with the current application form:

    Import Permit for Alcoholic Beverages
    Licence to Sell Alcoholic Beverages

    Tobacco and Tobacco Products

    The document entitled Import Permit for Tobacco and Tobacco Products has been newly added to this import report, in accordance with the Excise Tax Act, 2560 [2017]. It substitutes the former import permits for cigarettes, for tobacco seeds, plants, leaves and chewing tobacco and for shredded tobacco and other tobacco. For more information, please refer to said document and the updated section on Tobacco and Tobacco Products further below.
  • 20-Mar-2018 Honduras Amendments as regards the single window for foreign trade, norms and standards as well as contact details and trade-related news have been brought to the import documentation for Honduras. The following changes have been made:

    Single Window for Foreign Trade

    A chapter on the Single Window of Foreign Trade of Honduras (VUCEH) has been newly created for this overview in order to depict general information on the electronic platform. For more details, please refer to the quoted paragraph.

    Norms and Standards

    As the Honduran Standards Organization (OHN) participates in the Affiliate Country Programme of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the section on Norms and Standards in this overview has been amended to this effect. Please turn to the updated chapter for further information on Honduras' international standardisation activities.

    Contact Details

    The Honduran customs authority formerly entitled Executive Directorate of Revenues (DEI) has been renamed to Deputy Directorate of Customs Revenues (DARA). Consequently, this amendment has been reflected throughout the report.

  • Taiwan opens market for beef from the Netherlands and Sweden
    Beef from the Netherlands and Sweden will now be allowed on the Taiwanese market. The welcome news was announced on 18 September 2017 by an Executive Order of the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare. The order is effective immediately. The opening of the Taiwanese market is the result of a joint effort of the Member State governments and the European Commission to engage with the Taiwanese government, academia and wider public in a dialogue over several years to explain the EU's comprehensive, multi-layered control systems that meet the highest standards.

  • Turkey removes long standing export restrictions of copper and aluminium scrap
    On 11 July 2017, Turkey ended long-standing export restrictions of copper and aluminium scrap. This move follows continuous efforts by the European Commission, Member States and European industry with the relevant Turkish authorities to remove these restrictions, in the context of the EU's Market Access Partnership.
